Presented by the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, LIFE–WELL Tokyo represents the culmination of Sakamoto's commitment to blending art with ecological awareness. A standout feature of this installation is the ethereal fog sculpture created in collaboration with Fujiko Nakaya. Known for her pioneering work with fog as a medium, Nakaya's contribution makes a dynamic, ever-shifting environment where sound, water, and mist converge. The piece and Shiro Takatani's visual design emphasize humanity's interconnectedness with nature and the ephemeral nature of existence.

This striking installation confronts the essence of time itself. Through minimalist soundscapes paired with kinetic visuals, TIME, TIME, IS YOUR TIME challenges audiences to reconsider their relationship with time and their fleeting presence in the universe. It is a meditative yet provocative piece that encourages self-reflection in the face of life's transience.

At the end of the scene exhibition, this immersive installation brings him alive, performing the music in the spatial realm. In collaboration with Toshio Iwai, Music Plays Images X Images Play Music is a groundbreaking multimedia performance that merges sound and visuals in an unprecedented way. Iwai's interactive visuals respond dynamically to Sakamoto's live compositions, creating a feedback loop where music shapes imagery, and imagery shapes music. This project highlights the innovative spirit of both artists, challenging traditional boundaries between auditory and visual art forms. I had never seen his performance in real life, but it impressed me.
